Five-Year Post-Op Post!

Five years ago today, I watched my little boy be wheeled into open-heart surgery.

As a mom, there are moments that change you forever. Watching your child undergo a life-saving operation at just four years old was one of them. The fear was overwhelming, but so was the hope.

Today, I look at this incredible kid - strong, healthy, fearless, and full of life - and I'm reminded every single day of the miracle he is.

Cameron, you have overcome more before kindergarten than many people face in a lifetime. Your strength has inspired everyone around you, especially me. You are proof that scars tell stories of courage, resilience, and second chances.

To the surgeons, nurses, doctors, family, and friends who carried us through one of the hardest days of our lives - thank you. Your kindness and expertise gave my son the opportunity to grow into the amazing young man he is today.

Five years later, his heart is stronger than ever... and so is ours.

Happy 5-year "heartiversary," buddy. Watching you thrive is the greatest gift I've ever been given.
