What an emotional rollercoaster today has been. Im grateful that Cameron has be repaired. I am grateful to be afforded the opportunity to have him "fixed". The rooms in Childrens Intensive Care Unit (CICU) are very large and all private. We had the most incredible nurse today - Justine. She was a rockstar and kept me grounded and Cameron comfortable. Justine if you are reading this - Thank you for all that you do. It's people like you who make the stormiest seas bearable.

When Cameron arrived, he was not intubated. He was recovering fast, and mom and I were told that he had zero complications and it was a perfect surgery.

Throughout the day he has gone in and out of sleep. He is still in quite a bit of pain when he wakes up. Justine and now our night nurse Colleen are making sure he is medicated out of pain. He is communicating how much pain he is in (smiley face chart) and points to what hurts. He wants all these dang tubes off of him. He is still mama's boy and wants me to snuggle him while he is awake and falling to sleep. It will be a long night and a long road, but he is strong, and I am confident he will bounce back and be the crazy little beast we all know and love.
