Hi there, and thank you for visiting our page and reading about our journey. Cameron (Cam) is an 8-year-old dino-obsessed, Lego-building, football-loving, super-smart, little beast of a son and I'm Jess - the lady lucky enough to be his mama..

In May of 2021, Cameron was diagnosed with Atrioventricular Septal Defect (AVSD) with a Cleft Mitral Valve that requires open heart surgery to repair. He was scheduled for surgery on July 15th at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, D.C., and I was assured by the multiple cardiologists and specialists we've seen that he is in no immediate danger. However, if not repaired, there would be a high probability that his condition would be fatal in his teens/20s.

This site started pre-surgery. Cameron loves getting mail and opening packages - no matter who they are for! We opened a p.o. box and I thought that if anyone would like to send a get well or thinking of you card, they could send it to the box for us to open while we are in the hospital or while we are home recovering. The outpouring of love we had was amazing and we had cards and packages to open almost every day! We are keeping the site active to document our journey and inspire others!
